Emerging from Dr. Marc Gallant's Ph.D. research, RockMass was incorporated to bring their research to market. As an industry-leader, our end-to-end solution serves the world's largest mining companies, providing digital mapping and LiDAR innovation across five continents.

How it Started
Milestone
Ideation
It all started with a PhD thesis from Queen's University's Offroad Robotics Lab. The co-founders decided to transform the idea into a tangible product.

Meet the Founders
Shelby Yee
Co-Founder & CEO
Trained as a geological engineer, Shelby is the recipient of Forbes' 30 Under 30 and the Young Mining Professionals' Eira Thomas Award. Most recently, she joined the Nature Conservancy of Canada's board and hopes to support the mining industry in its sustainability efforts.

Stuart Bourne
Co-Founder & CTO
Stuart has spent his entire career in the technology industry. He has experience in robotics in the aerospace and mining industries and has led projects using both hardware and software. His goal is to continue to advance automation in his career.
